im admin on XP. i had people login with my acct to use the comp. now im giving them their own acct and transfering their files onto their. how can i set it so the limited accts cant see my files now?

sorrie but i probably wasnt really clear. i meant that while they are logged into their acct, is there any way to hide my files. i remember after i did a fresh install i was able to choose if i wanted my files private.

Depends on what files you want to hide. Documents/settings they cannot get into, other files you need to set permissions on them. Right click the file, then security tab. Select who can read, access, write, etc to a file.

Of course, XP Pro is needed. XP Home I don't think you can set permissions on.

XP Home uses simple networking, however you can get access to the full security settings by booting into safe mode and setting the file/share permissions there. When you boot back normally you won't be able to see those permissions but they are still in force.
