Admin password for a new Dell computer...

i have winxp pro installed from factory from dell. I can't seem to find any administrator password for it. So i tried to reset the password in user manager, but it says that i might lose data, what can i do? does dell usually list this password somewhere with the included manuals/software?

ctrl-alt-del -> change password

EDIT: That is, if you are logged in as administrator. I don't think that was clear from the original post.

Having worked at Dell, I can tell you that we NEVER sent out PC's with admin passwords. Those are set up during the out of box experience. The only exception would be if you had some image specially installed from your company.

when you first ran the machine at one point it will have asked you for "a password for this machine" that is where it was set, its one of the first things dells ask you when you turn them on for the first time
