I expect regular forum members to mock. I don't expect admins to mock and act like little brats.

I guess I should expect brats in the politics area though.

Wrong forum. This is not a personal issue. If you have a gripe about a moderator post here:
http://forums.anandtech.com/forumdisplay.php?f=56

Read my post at the bottom to help you sort out your misunderstanding about moderators posting as members

You're wrong. I am sure it's not the first time though.

You call that mocking? Seriously?
Red can't post like a real person?
Maybe you need a break.
Oh yeah, wrong forum. Use the triangle icon.

You're wrong.

Wanna actually post more than that? You know, back that up?

I expect admins to have a bit of maturity. I don't expect admins to just be down in the muck. I've seen admins critisize people for acting immature, and I don't see how that have a basis for that when admins themselse act childish.

He didn't sign it as an Admin so he was posting as a member.

It's for problems with the forums NOT, problems with people in the forums.

Frankly, I would call a problem with an admin a problem with the forum...and I've seen posts about PEOPLE made in here before. And frankly, I'd rather have a complaint about an admin out in the open rather than just hidden behind the report button.

Which is why I suggested a break. You aren't going to get any satisfaction here. Admins are real live people like 'em or not. They may be as obnoxious as the next poster as long as they do not break the forum rules. Further, even if in your mind, the forum rules were broken, the admins have a different perspective. I say again, take a break and come back when you're feeling better.

As far as admins, are the regular people? Yes. But the forum rules state that they're supposed to be more mature.

From our pool of regular members, we will invite a number to participate on the forums as moderators. These will be upstanding members of the community willing to help us make the forums the most hospitable environment for everyone.

Given that, I expect mods to not just act like the next guy. When mod appears next to your name, you should be held to a higher standard.

I don't call that post mocking, but I'm not gonna sit back and say he hasn't taken shit to levels elsewhere that other members would've got in trouble for.

EDIT: Oh, I didn't see he edited your post from the original. In that case, yeah, but the good thing is all his "attacks" are one liners and he has no substance, so is easy to ignore, just annoying.

If you are going to call someone out for immaturity, you should maybe make sure the thread you link isn't full of your much worse attitude. He posted a smiley face for goodness sakes...

I'm not sure if I was the only one to miss it at first, but he actually edited his post and just put a (apparently to the OP immature) picture in place.

For instance, last time I changed someone's post I got a 2 month ban...albeit other stuff tacked on, still.

As a long time participant in P&N, let me offer an observation. P&N is not for the easily offended. Especially when you make such strong, emotional attacks, you can expect people who disagree to mock you, insult you, and generally respond in ways that will hurt delicate feelings. Yes, there are lines, but they tend to be out there and more than a bit fuzzy.

Such is the culture in P&N. Don't take it personally or you will be very unhappy there.

My $0.02.

And you would be wrong. Posting a thread as you have here is actually a moderator callout.

Moderators get to post as regular members and their mod titles have zero to do with their posting as regular members.

The forums rules DO NOT state that mods are supposed to be more mature and mods ARE NOT held to a higher standard contrary to the statement you made.
