Adelphia chaning their plans up here in my area.

Got a letter today from Adelphia, the basic statement being that they upgraded the network here in my area and now they are offering multiple plans.

Supposedly my original connection is 2mb/256k
But now i can get ahigher plan (i am sure it just happens to be more money🙂) it is a 3mb/384k

Anyone else get anything like this in their area? I am up here in Maine.

Damn, hard to believe they're even bothering to upgrade way up there. Does that mean EVERY other part of their network is up to the same level? That's the only way I can imagine it happening, like they just ran out of other places and said "well, guess we gotta do maine now".

I can't see that being of any value unless it's a VERY small amount of price increase. An extra 128k upload isn't going to make that big a difference for most people, and another 1Mb theoretical download speed on top of an already high 2Mbps is nice but far from being a requirement.

Wonder how they're going to justify themselves to the RIAA and MPAA? 🙂 Certainly nobody just web browsing and gaming needs a 3Mbps download.

nice. 🙂
