Adele. Dang she's pretty good

...it took you this long to figure that out?

🙂

...and I've come to realize that the 80s destroy the 90s when it comes to music. easily...

She's not the most charismatic, but has an awesome sound/ability. I paused to listen when I first heard her music on the radio, had to find out more about her.

really soulful voice. definitely one of the best singers of this decade.

her and melanie fiona are my favorite.

If you decide to pick apart the song, she says "I wish nothing but the best for you, too". Not "I wish nothing but the best for you two".

Makes a big difference 😀

I think she is one dimensional with one range.
The only thing she can do to change pitch is to go to an extreme high back to her normal low. And it can only carry for one word.
Adele is awesome at first. Her normal range is great. But there's no variance. You quickly figure out
, it gets old.

I'm having a hard time finding better female vocalists. I'm no expert but sounds pretty damn good to me. And so far it passes the ATOT test. Put any other singer/band out there like this and you usually have 200 posts saying what complete garbage it is or I have a garage band that blows it away etc..

Some of her stuff is a little too slow for me, but I like "Rolling In The Deep," "Rumor Has it," "He Won't Go" and "I'll Be Waiting"

I like her but I really don't like the rumor has it song. For some reason that song annoys me.

Search "Adele iTunes Fesitval 2011" on youtube. Good live performances, although the audio could be better. I like the one for "I'll Be Waiting"

Sadly Adele will not sound the same for long. She just cancelled a bunch of shows because of nodes. She has a very small range and makes up for it by bringing her chest voice into the upper registers. While this sounds great it is unsustainable when performing the amounts of shows they do these days.
I had to quit singing on and off broadway because like pop and rock you work till your voice is dead....

Remember elton john? In the beginning he had an amazing range with lots of interesting colors to his voice... post nodule surgery...not so much..

Sadly many of the voices we are hearing today will not be there tomorrow...

Now look at amy adams from that rock band. She actually supports her sound and sings naturally and she still had some early trouble. Now if you see them live she is heavily miked and using head voice....

shit back in the day Axel never sang live....he ran around grinded a few words and duff sang all the melody...

You primarily want a vocalist to move through multiple ranges. Adele can't do that. Ever. At least I never heard her do it. A voice instructor can make that happen, but I don't think she goes to one. She also chain smokes. And as someone pointed out earlier, what she has now wont last long.
She's pretty much part of the British formula that applies to female vocalists. Use them. Over produce it it. Make it glossy. Do nothing to nurture a career.
Sad really.

Neil Young claims it is the best decade for music. 🙂

hes right! and i have liked pretty much every decades music since the 50s.

autotune and dubstep make this the worst decade for music.

this is also correct! so much music now is preprogrammed samples and formulaic crap used as a cash grab for record companies. what happened to all those kick ass indie movements? i never hear about them anymore. i must be out of the loop.

As far as I know I've only heard Rolling in the Deep (I think that's it) by her, and it sounds horrid.
