Why do we have two :cookie; threads?

I still don't know what the use of a :cookie; is. Oh well.

I don't know why two threads are around, but mine was first by a long-shot [Sine 11/03/2003!] 😀

<-- Still hoping for a :cookie;

As I said in another thread, I'm more than willing to draw up the :cookie; icon. I have 1337 skillz in digital media if I must say so myself. I have a portfolio I can show the mods if need be.

I'll make a $50 donation to AT for a cookie emoticon. I'm not joking. Gimme a cookie, tell me where to send the check.

I like this guy! 😀

Where's the :cookie; Jason? 🙁

Hey, Jason, where the hell is the cookie emoticon? We want it and we will have it! :|

A cookie emoticon is long overdue and we are going to ....well,...uh.....I think we might do something. 😱

Love and kisses, Bro. 😉

I'm not complaining, just curious 🙂

I think it has to do with how posts are entered in to the database. Go look at old posts with the :[/b]roll; emoticon. At least after the upgrade it did't show up because it was looking for the old image which isn't there anymore.

This is the first example I could find. See Bowfingers post.

Edit: I think what it is is that before when you typed ":[/b]cookie; in to you post it placed the exact text ":[/b]cookie;" in your post when you submitted it. Now when you type it, it places something like this in your text when you submit it.
<[/b]img src="i/expressions/cookie.gif" border="0"[/b]>
