What is actually involved? wingz said it is nontrivial, but he also said doesn't design the things so doesn't know in detail 😉. what i'm asking is what/how much has to be changed?

also, how much power do processors usually use while in reset?

What do you mean by thermal protection? DO you mean clock throttling, or just a hard power down?
