adding the remote desktop user

i'm adding a single user to my host PC for this. i need to add in the user of the wired PC, so that the wireless will only accept the remote desktop request from my wired pc

But, the only users that i can access from my wireless are the ones on that pc. i can't see any users on the wired pc.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong, because i can't see users on this pc, from the remote desktop setup on the wireless?

*fires SoS flare* !!

bu the way, standard

...............Wired, upstairs
router <
...............Wireless, downstairs

my aim is to remote desktop control the wireless, from the wired

Basic workgroup Remote desktop depends on LOCAL authentication, as in whoever logs into your PC A will use the username/password of an active account on the PC A.

In this case, all you have to do is make sure at least ONE local user on the pc that you want to control is allowed to be controlled, and then when you fire up RD on another pc, jsut login to the pc of your choice with said pc's credentials

awesome, thanks

my network-ette is doing everything i want it to (for now 😛 )

I'm new to the networksecurity side of things....is there a good source of information for securty, whether i should use encryption or not....making sure my wireless doesn't latch on to any other points (is that poss?)

don't want to contribute to RoTM 😱
