Adding separate raid card for 4 channel raid

I have a Soyo Dragon Plus which has an integrated Promise FastTrack 2 channel raid controller. While this works great, I would like to have a raid 0 implementation with 4 independent channels instead of 2 (i.e. each of the 4 hard drives are masters). So my question is whether it is possible to buy a separate PCI raid card, say a Promise FastTrack TX2, and be able to use it in conjunction with the existing integrated Promise raid controller for an effective 4 channel raid 0 or 0+1 implementation? Or is it only possible to get 4 channel raid by disabling the integrated controller and buying a separate 4 channel pci raid controller altogether?

Thanks for any input.

You would need the separate controller - an array can't cross controllers in hardware/semi-hardware RAID. You could run all the controllers as normal IDE channels and use a pure software RAID solution that can bridge the controllers, but I doubt you want that (at least, not in Windows, *nix is better at software RAID).

Thanks for the info cleverhandle, thats exactly what I was wondering about! You're right, I definitely don't want to resort to Windows 2000's raid to bridge the two controllers.
