Adding old hard drive to an old system

I've got a friend who has an old computer and an even older Acer computer. What he wants to do is take the hard drive from teh Acer and pop it into the old computer. The older computer already has a hard drive, so this 2nd one from the Acer would be a primary 'slave' drive. That much I understand, and can work with.

What puzzles me is that both hard drives have Windows installed. Would popping in the old acer hard drive as the 'slave' throw the Windows boot-up out of whack? Or would Windows be loaded from the current 'master' drive?

nope. windows will continue to load from the correct "primary" drive. it's set to do so

basically, the slave drive will show up in "my computer" as a second hard drive which just happens to have a windows directory

That's what I thought would happen, but having never done so, I wasn't totally sure. ^_^;;; So pretty much just plug 'n chug? Great, thanks!
