Adding New Ram?

I have 1 set of:

Recently my computer has been using a decent amount of memory (Windows 7 Ultimate) during gaming and I was wondering if it would be wise to upgrade to one more set of 2x2gb sticks? (total of 8gb in computer)

If so, what would be a good choice? Would it matter that the RAM I have now is 7-8-7 Cas Latency 7 if I were to pair it with 9-9-9.

Now that I think about it my RAM right now is set at 9-9-9, since I forgot to set it up again after restting BIOS -.- (but I will be re doing it to 7-8-7)

If it would be good to add 4 more gb, which RAM would be good to pair with the already existing pair?

Well, I'd say, stop caring about CAS latency and buy MOAR RAM. If you have to run at 9-9-9, well, whatever.

That said, if you really do care, you need to get the same stuff, since the machine won't run different slots at different latencies.

Newegg has plenty of pre-picked kits of 2x4GB, 2x8GB, and 4x4GB DIMMs that supposedly will operate at CAS7/8.

Just off top of my head, since I'm always eye-balling RAM kits and especially those by G.SKILL.

There's an 8GB 2x4GB kit available at the Egg for $50. It's the same -GBXM series, same speed -- looser timings. You could pop those into your box keeping the 2x2GB kit, probably loosen the timings to the 8GB spec, tweak the voltage slightly or VCCIO -- and run 12GB in your system. Of course, the other option would be that of simply replacing the 2x2 kit . . .

8GB of DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz is now avg 16 dollars. So dont spend over 25 to 30 dollars and get same thing you have now,, I wouldnt mix and match.

So you think I should get the same ram?

The only problem I see is that they same exact RAM I have in my comp is now discontinued -.-

To pair with mine what do I have to match? Cas 7 and then could I get 7-8-8-24 and just clock mine from 7-8-7-24 to match the new ones? I dont know much about RAM as you can tell
