Adding music to a PowerPoint presentation

I am making a presentation tomorrow and I need to know how I can interweave music into it. I have fiddled with the "Insert: Music and sounds" but it puts a huge box on the slide and the music will stop after the slide changes. Basically I need the music to start at the first slide and end at the last slide. Any suggestions?
