Adding more speakers around house from same source

Hi,

I have already maxed out the outputs of the receiver in my house (A and B speakers), is there a device that has speaker wire inputs and can output more speakers in different rooms?

does your receiver have line level output to send to another amp in another room. You would need more amperage along with the connections.

How far are we talking about ? The further you get from the amp the larger the wire will have to be to carry the load without causing loss of power.

No need to spend big bucks on a speaker switch either. Nothing special about speaker switches. Know what the loads are and you can use any switch, you could use AC light switches if you wanted 🙂

It is quite likely that if you are already running 2 pairs of speakers, the amplifier is driving the equivalent of a 4O load on each channel - running a third pair directly will not do your amp any favors. It would probably be best to buy a wireless amplified speaker pair or just a wireless transmitter + receiver with amplifier (to use with your own speakers). Perhaps something like the Rocketfish Wireless Rear Speaker Kit - it has speaker level inputs (no RCAs unfortunately) which will connect directly to your amplifier. If you can run wires, just use another stereo amp instead. Multiple rooms (>2) will probably require a more exotic setup...
