Adding more memory to my system

Ok heres my question.

I have this Mother Board...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130468

4 1 gig ddr 400 (3200) slots.

I have in it right now this Patriot memory:

Patriot 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220033

Now i have a chance to add 2 more sticks in the open 2 slots...But only about $100 to do it. If i put slower Dual channel in the other 2 slots, or slower non dual channel memory in the other 2 slots, will that slow down my Patriot Memory? Or will it even work?

Thanks for any info!

Chris

Unless you have a Venice or Sandiego core chip, adding four sticks of ram will force yoru ram to run at DDR333 and 2T timings. You should be able to force it to run at DDR400, but you still have to run 2T timings. Your ram will have to run slower anyways, even if you got two more sticks of expensive ram.

All memory will run at the speed/timings of the of the slowest sticks. Some value memory may be able to overclock to those timings however.

It depends. What do you do with yoru computer?

Like SlitheryDee said, your ram will run as slow as the slowest stick, but it will also run at 2T timings.

yo name it i play it, BF 2, HL2, Rome, etc...

I also host games for my friends when we play rome, Swat 4, etc.. in co-op play...

I noticed in rome... if i get more than 3 of my friends in the game, and we have a lot of armies... it starts to slow down... so i was hoping to add some memory to help that a bit.
