Adding"Map Network Drive" to WHS console

I have been looking for a whs add-in to place a mapped drives button into whs server storage page in the console. So far nothing has became available so I looked into how to do it myself but without results.I cant even find information on the relevent windows files that enable mapped drives in windows explorer. What windows files are involved in map/connect network drives and canI simply cpy and paste those files into the whs console?Tho the mapped drives work ok on the whs box they dont show up on the server storage page of the console.

They don't show up on the server storage page because WHS only integrates local drives in to the storage pool. What exactly are you hoping to accomplish by integrating network drives?

The only scenario I can think of is the OP has a NAS or two, and would prefer they were part of the WHS pool rather than their own storage space.

I imagine that WHS intentionally ignores network drives because once they go on the server storage page they become eligible to join the storage pool. Any network disruption would really mess with the pool. WHS would likely report a damaged drive and issue warnings as soon as it noticed a dropped network connection.

Mapped drives can not be added to the storage pool, there are a lot of good reasons for this and its not likely to change. If you *really* want to do this, you could go an iscsi route or some of the external IP drives with local drivers which appear local to the OS. But I'd highly discourage this practice with WHS.

My goal is to bring a list of all mapped drives into one common location that all computers can see.The whs console seems to be a good choice for that. However I would not add the mapped drives to the storage pool of whs. Map/disconnect drive radio buttons would be conveniant also.

Ok, I see what your driving at. I dont know of a plugin that does this, but I agree a nice centralized manager for this would be nice to have. You might want to reach out to the autoexit author, he's plugin already requires a local agent and it might be something he'd considering adding.
