Adding Laptop Memory Myself

I want to max out my Inspiron 2600's memory with 512. Right now it has 128. I have found these instructions about adding memory in the end user's slot:

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/s.../ins2600/en/sm_en/upgrades.htm#1000098

If I swap out this stick for a 256 stick, I believe I will still have only 256, or possibly 256 + 64.

However, there is another memory slot somewhere, which is supposedly accessible only to the factory or authorized dell repair people. I couldn't find any info on the web about where that slot was or how I could access it. Does anyone know if it's possible to access this slot safely yourself? If so, where could I find instructions?

Thanks,
gm

yep dell seems to like to hide their memory under the keyboard lately...thats the way it was on my 700m...just a matter of figuring out how to pry the thing up and its like on the opposte side of the ram that usually has a door on the bottom

From the Dell docs...

In any case, I think I just found an answer to my question:
