A good product to do what you're looking for. I used it to mount an extra HDD to the bottom of the case the way you're looking to do. My advice: measure twice, drill once... And don't do what I did and use a power screwdriver to fasten the standoffs - I tore them apart. Luckily, Zalman included several extra.
 
Just curious, what took up all the Hard drive bays? How many did you have?
Cause i have 4 bays, but just 2 HDD, and am looking for something to do with the other 2. My case looks too empty 😀.
 
I have a system that had no room for any more drives. I bought a HD fan that had 2 fans and connects directly to the bottom of the HD, where the circuitry is, and used velcro tape to fasten it to the bottom inside of my case. Works great. And the fans were only 15 bucks and very flat. Only added about a 1/4 of an inch to the HDs thickness.
