Adding corsair value ram to corsair xms pro

Hi,
i have a system that has 1 stick of corsair xms pro pc 3200. I was wondering... if i added (2x512) corsair value ram to this setup, would it compromise my performance?? because i would end up using 3 slots for ram and thats my concern. please help

heres my current setup:
dfi ultra d
amd winnie 3000+ (overclocked to 2.46)
corsair xms pro (running at 270mhz) using a 5/6 devider
36 g raptor
x800xl picx 256

Well, on a 939 board, your PC won't boot if you use 3 slots. The best bet would be to get another stick of the XMS.

Your mobo may not like the Corsair VS RAMs (unless you've flashed to their latest BIOS), and yeah, it's not a good idea to mix different specd RAMs, so the best idea si to get another stick of RAM identical to your existing one.

no problems with default performance

I have a 256mb C-XMS stick with a generic 512mb stick from who knows what company. They work fine. In fact, the generic 512mb stick offers lower latency than the 256mb stick, but the XMS is said to have a slightly better architecture (who knows? because I have Everest, and I don't see any extra check marks for the XMS stick than the 512mb stick, but Everest is just a program, I don't care anymore though)

If you wanna OC your memory, just go two of the same sticks, something that's certified to work in dual channel environments, that way you can save head aches with parity of each of the sticks along with other adjustments etc.

Anyhow, depends on BIOS and MB chipset compatibilities - if that's what you got, value and XMS? just try it anyway.

You should really read your MB manual.
It tells you right in there not to use 3 sticks of RAM.
