adding cd recorder

Can I safely add an internal "CD RACER" double speed cd recorder made by a defunct company called "Smart and Friendly" to a Compaq pc, model 7360? I have heard that adding non-compaq devices could be a problem.
 
I think that drive is a standard IDE device, you should be able to add it with no problem as long as you have a free IDE port.

Compaq's BIOS is an amazing thing (I'm being sarcastic), if you have any problems you'll have to wade through the crappy BIOS to enable the secondary IDE, etc., etc.
