adding a new harddrive question about cache.

i have a 500g cheap harddrive i bought for my system

few months down the road now and this one is full i bought this

my question is for playing games would the new hd show me and performance gains or would it not be worth the hassle of everything to make it my main drive?

Those drives look like they would perform about the same.

What I would do is short stroke both drives. I would create a 200gb partition on the 500gb drive, and use that for Windows and your apps.

Then I would create a 300-500gb partition on the 1tb drive for all your games.

Use the remaining unallocated space on each drive to create "storage" partitions for all your documents, media, and backups.
