Adding a new ATA card

hey guys,

if i added a ata100 or 66 card to my system, will this allow my to put more than 4 IDE devices in my system. more clearly, the card allows me to put more IDE devices in, kind of like adding a scsi card right?

yeah, it does, but I've heard some problems when adding a controller card when you've got a Sound Blaster card. Not sure if you do...either way, this is the wrong forum

yes you can have more devices, i have a mainboard with a built in second controller, and run 5 ide device, thus allowing me to do a few things, burn a cd from my mp3 hard drive, whilst dl'ing to my main drive whilst playing a dvd from the dvd which shares a channel with my 32x, or game from my 32x.
