Adding a HDD w/o RAID

I was wanting to get another HDD for my computer. It is running a Intel D945GNT Motherboard, and has 4 SATA channels with built in RAID. I want to install the HDD, but I don't want to run RAID with it, just have it regonized as a separate HDD. Is this possible, and if so, how do I do it in Windows XP Home?

Just install the drive and hook up the power and data cables. Thats it as far as hardware is concerned when you dont want RAID.

When your system starts up, right click on My computer and select "manage". From the computer management screen, choose Disk Management. A graphic of your drives will come up and here you can create partitions, format the drive, and assign a drive letter. You can figure it out from there.
