Add/Remove programs is being gay

K I have a tribes 2 mod called renegades installed right (version 2). But guess what, Here comes version 4. So I install it. I then delete the .exe for version 2 and uninstall version 2 from my add/remove programs. Then load tribes only to find that it's not working. Go back to add remove programs, and it has removed version 4. Leaving a spot there saying that version2 is installed. So I click to remove version 2. Sorry can't do that.

Usually it gives you the option of removing it from the list regardless. But it won't even do that. My question is, how do I remove this from the add/remove programs list without uninstalling it (because it already is.)

Hi,

If I read your post right, the reason you have a problem is that you decided to use "Add/Remove Programs" after you'd deleted the renegade2.exe and then installed renegade4.exe. Bad move. Always uninstall the old program using "Add/Remove Programs" FIRST! (if possible).

Now, to help you. It sounds to me that this has not only left you with an entry in "Add/Remove Programs" but also shafted your tribes 2 installation, so:

1. Try and uninstall tribes 2 using "Add/Remove Programs" If this fails then proceed to below, and having done what is outlined perfom the same task for "tribes 2".

2. Use Start -> Run -> regedit . Use "regedit" to backup your registry. Then search for "renegade" (or some key word relating to your damaged entry in "Add/Remove Programs"). You'll probably get a couple of entries pop up, which you should delete (unless you think they don't relate to the game).

3. Reboot and reinstall tribes 2 then renegade.

HAHAHAHah, oh my god. You know when you walk into someones house and you see a moogle on a final fantasy game go Mugu Mugu!? Well that's the reaction I got when I read that post about the lesbian. Best way of describing it.

Switch back to reality, what I did to fix my problem was this. I went and downloaded TweakUI, checked out the add/remove programs tab. Found I was able to remove stuff regardless of a .log.. So I'm cool, thanks alot for the suggestions guys.

And for the lesbian. If you want attention, go streak in a mall or something. Don't bring your attention getting moronic self to these forums crying out. It's retarted, and it wastes very needed space on the internet.

Oh and I'd try reinstalling ver2 of whatever the mod is called, just as you had it installed before, then uninstall it using the Add/Remove, make sure it worked, then install ver4.
