Add or Remove Programs List

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP1. Whenever I access the Add or Remove Programs option in the Control Panel, the programs currently installed are listed in the window in alphabetical order. BUT, the list is "broken", or not continuous That is, the first 12 or so programs are listed at the top, followed by a CONSIDERABLE gap before the list continues with the next 12 or so programs. Then there is another considerable gap before the last group of programs are listed!? I am having to scroll quite a way down the window in order to see all the programs!?

Why are there gaps between the listed programs? Shouldn't all the programs be listed continuously?
Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted to stop the gaps? Or is this some sort of bug?

Anyone, please?

seen some milder variation of this sort...corrupt files and/or programs lack useage/size/frequency of use data. There's a space, not a HUGE one. Is this it? Check out valid programs. Delete crap.

Thanks billybob. As it turns out, the problem was apparently something to do with Autocad 2002.

I have just NOW found out (from this thread - http://forums.anandtech.com/me...821&enterthread=y), the problem has something to do with Autocad2002 which I have installed. I downloaded and executed the "fix" file, and I no longer have large gaps between groups of programs. The programs are now listed continuously as they should be!
