Hi

I am getting two giant, tacky Gigabyte adds on the sides of the main website (not forum). They look cheap and tacky and have reduced my opinion of Gigabyte. I still think they make great products, these adds just make them look cheap. They also overpower the content of the website. They remind me of myspace.

I understand you need to adds to pay for this awesome site but this add is really off-putting.

Cheers

Edit: Thank you so much for the quick response. Sorry for the crass feedback, I was in a rush this morning. Your normal side adds look nice. Thanks again.

Just throwing my opinion into the hat - that Gigabyte ad was awful. I actually stopped using the site until it was gone.

I know ads generate revenue, but think about user impact too. I'd be interested to see if your user metrics took a huge dip while that ad was up. ;)

I just checked the numbers.
Readership was up 12% and Gigabyte sales were up 4.7%.

I've noticed you haven't used side ads for a few days now. I had no problem with any of your old, far more modest side ads. It was just this one add took up all the 'white space' hence making your site very off-putting to me (and the bloke above).

I love this site and read it almost daily. I want you to make as much money as possible so you can keep up the good work. Please don't misunderstand my complaint. If the ad was half its width or was more reserved I would not have complained.

Cheers

Somehow I missed this thread before. But anyhow...

For main site ads, you guys need to talk to Anand. This is the suggestion box for the forum. But I doubt AT would be running those ads if they had a choice.
