I installed this on my old Nexus 7 tablet. I'm not sure it's working, as I keep getting config messages.

Does anyone use AdBlock on their Android phone or tablet?

I use uBlock Origin on Firefox on one of my phones, and Bluhell on the other. Try those. AdBlock Plus has an "acceptable ads" policy, anyway, which I don't like.

I also have AdAway, which requires root but has system blocking of ads (basically it edits the hosts file, much as you would on a desktop PC).

Adaway and uBlock. uBlock is mainly for cosmetic hiding, as Adaway takes care of the core issue.

adblock has an extension for dolphin browser and they work pretty well. The only caveat is that you need jetpack installed as well (which tends to break formatting of some sites).

Ublock on Firefox here. Works great!
It's kinda slow though. I show this in my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J9X3oLXf7M

I only have 2 extensions on Firefox (HTTPS Everywhere and uBlock with the standard filters). Notice the load time on Firefox where the app has to load the extensions. It takes a while before the HTTPS Everywhere extension loads, and only then does the app start loading the website.

I use Chrome.
I do not root. (No idea what that is)

I installed AdBlockPlus and it says I need to config localhost since no traffic is being detected by AdBlockPlus.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but since some have mentioned using it... is there an easy way to whitelist games for Adaway? I used it but wanted to allow certain apps through, but the whitelist option only seems to allow addresses and I have no idea where the ads are coming from in the games.
