Yes, this drive is TLC. Yes, TLC sucks. Yes, it's cheap, as far as price/capacity goes. Yes, it would make a fine Steam drive. No, I don't really recommend TLC drives as OS drives.

Edit: I should note, 3D TLC (non Samsung V-NAND) is on the verge of coming out. It should be more reliable, and be cheaper, than the Planar TLC used in this drive. You might want to wait a few months, if you don't need a 1TB SSD "right now".
