Adaptec 3200s and RAID 5 -- How do I rebuild?

We have a linux box with hardware adaptec 3200s raid with 3 SCSI drives.

The other day, one of the drives failed. We, for some reason, did not have a spare to place in there, so we went to our backup server and ordered a new drive.

It came in, we put it in the server, and went into the management application.

We can select Rebuild, but it doesn't do anything. I left it run all weekend long and the RAID is not 100% rebuilt. What is going on?

You should be able to go into the card's BIOS and check to see where the progress is at on the rebuild. Depending on the size of the drives and the amount of data it can take days or weeks to rebuild.

69 gig total. (three 35 gig drives). Days or Weeks?! 0.o

And there's no status report on the progress.

It comes up with two drives at 0,1,2 with being not formatted.

The raid however says its using 1,2,4 with 4 being "missing"/
