Adaptec 19160 and Linux

I was assured that this card was of a windows-only flavor when I bought it, and assumed that was fine. I am dipping my finger into linux and I like what I see. I have been running it on a server for some time, but now I want to try it on my main rig.

I just recently found DRIVERS for Liux pertainning to my card, and wanted to see if they were indeed vaid.

Im wondering if someone somewhere has tried hacking the 29160 bios for 19160?
Theyre both identical cards barring the bios, yeah?
