Outside, they met reporters and television cameras and launched into a nonsensical discussion of hair styles of the 1970s. ?What we really want to talk about today ? it?s kind of important to some people ? it?s haircuts of the 1970s,? Berdovsky said.

Hilarious. These guys kick ass.

I heard that Nifong is going to move to Boston to personally oversee this case. He has the experience when it comes to things like this. Look at the Duke Lacrosse team case for an example! 😉

On one hand, I'm not sure why anyone would think that's a bomb.

On the other hand, I can't see how that could possibly be an effective advertisement for the show were it not for this bomb scare business.

So I have to wonder what they were going for here.

If you haven't watched ATHF you simply "won't get it". I think it was a brilliant plan that worked out even more successfully than the inventors could have ever dreamed.

See, that's my point - I haven't seen the show, I don't get it, so how are these things supposed to get more people to watch the show? 😕 It's not very good advertising if only people who already watch the show get it.

On a serious note, I do not like the show. Its pretty poor quality wise, from the animation to the scripts and jokes as well. If you take thier little "joke" about 70's hairstyles, it can be considered on par with the rest of the jokes and material on aqua teen. I dont see why people like the show at all.

thier little "mockery" does fit athf very very well though, gotta give them that. if you know the show then it fits perfectly, if you dont know the show you will just think they are complete and utter retards. if only they could actually be funny instead of boring.

Some advertising is used to gain viewers or customers while other advertising is used to retain customers or viewers by building a sense of brand loyalty. This is a VERY good method for the latter.

Edit: And Mugs, you're not in Adult Swim's targeted demogrphic, so these ads aren't aimed at you.

Honestly, I find adult swim to have some of the best-quality humor on TV today, with ATHF being one of my favorite shows in that programming block. Once you accept that it's completely random, has no continuity, and isn't supposed to "make sense" so to speak, it's damn funny. And the poor-quality animation is, again, part of the humor, and adds to the feel of the show.

But that's just my opinion.

As for the devices, how anyone could mistake them for a bomb, now that mystifies me.

Kudos to those two, taking the situation in stride with all things considered.

And I will pull up my chair with my popcorn and watch the backlash that's gonna hit that overreacting, chest-thumping, "we're gonna sue sue sue!" mayor in the next couple of weeks.

The humor in ATHF is simply that it's completely random and wacky and doesn't make sense. I mean, it's about a talking meatball, soda cup, and fry that have super powers. Just like any other type of humor, some people aren't going to find it funny.

What exactly is their targeted demographic? I'm an adult, and I like cartoons.

I respect that randay might not find it funny, but the whole thing about the scripts and jokes being poor quality is definitely not a universal opinion. It's one of the few shows on tv that can get me to actually laugh out loud. The animation isn't high quality, but it doesn't need to be, and that doesn't detract from the show at all.

Roughly 14-30.

The Mayor wants those corporations "responsible" to pay out $750,000 because Boston Officials are stupid.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

They should divide that up and bill each other. Morons.

Oh, the 2 guys should have picked a better topic because it was one they were not well versed in. Had they spoke about the specifics of the cartoon they would have received a bonus from the marketing firm that hired them.

I am glad that they are shining light on the propensity of government's current mindset to overreact in a dangerous way.

Fox News sucks.

I love the over reaction post 911 world. The only thing that bothers me about these two guys is they are making this such a circus that serious questions are being left out...

For instance...
how the fuc k did it take soooooo long for them to figure out these were not bombs?
how inept is the boston antiterrorist unit that they couldnt figure out it wasnt a bomb?
Where the hell is the communication on the national level to tell these guys that these were not bombs?
Why did other cities just throw them out then laugh at boston all day?
How did these guys walk around town all day placing (apparently) bomb like electronics with no police noticing?
How long before walking down the street with a blinking light is illegal?
Why did cnn report on this all day and yet be owned by the same company that pulled it off?
How is it possible that an entire city (nation) be distracted by tiny blinking lights?

Any paper not painting this as a government screw up needs to get their head examined.

Bad government officials. Consider this a test. Several cities were a part of this ad campaign, but only one freaked out. That one crappy police deparment needs needs to get cleaned out. An investigation should be launched to determine who fvcked up.

If they were so concerned, the cops could have sent an investigative team to one ad and see what it was. Once they determined that it was an ad campaign that broke several local ordinances they could have ordered them to be taken down at the company's expense. There, problem solved.

Here's the thing, people, hippies don't need to be jailed. You just have to ignore them and their nappy assed dreads. If you don't mess with them, they all will move to northern california and work at the organic farms that make you that nice organic lettuce you like to eat.
