Ad bug

One of your ads makes the entire page blank when it finishes loading on my Galaxy S7. Sorry I can't give you any better information but God damn this sucks. Incredibly annoying. Trying to avoid using ad blocker here.

How do you know that it is an ad? Any additional information beyond what you've provided could be super useful in helping us track this down. What was the ad presenting? What page did it happen on?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that this is in Chrome on the S7. I am using AnandTech theme.

It has happened more since my original post including about 5 minutes ago.

I do not know what ad and I am only guessing it has to do with an ad because when I go to any page I can scroll and browse for a few seconds as the ads are all loading and then boom, everything is blank except for header/footer of the page. The page still seems to stay long enough to accommodate all the replies on the page since I can usually scroll a lot of white space. At first it seemed to only be inside threads but it has happened a few times now on the P&N main page as well.

I couldn't get past the ad at all. It was blank, galaxy s9. Scroll past the ad to continue, ended up just not browsing via mobile.

Same here. Browsing the forums with Chrome on my Pixel 3 XL has become a lesson in futility because of these ridiculous ads. Either I'm going to use an ad blocker or just stop coming to these forums.

The mobile Chrome browser is about the worst one you can use with the forums.

I switched over to Samsung Internet browser because of the ad / redirect issues with mobile Chrome, and I haven't had one single issue since then.

IPhone/Safari the Bestbuy ad that you’re supposed to scroll through to see the forums just scrolls and scrolls and scrolls into oblivion. Forums are unusable.

On iPhone/Chrome the ad with 2 large breasted women in bras take up 3/4 of the screen. Win for free porn, loss for posting ability.

I have no issues using the mobile version of chrome with any of the myriad of other forums I participate on

I've been having the same issue and it just reoccured

Because it says "scroll down for content" and you just keep scrolling and scrolling past blank whiteness till you get to the Best Buy ad at the very bottom. Occasionally I can see a tiny (~1/4") sliver of the forums at the bottom of my screen so the ad is clearly overlayed the actual forums. My most recent issue was with the Forum List page

I agree.

It's these forums I've stopped using Chrome on. I had hoped they would get it figured out / fixed, but after awhile I just ended the pain by using the another browser.

I am so eager to change how I use my mobile device just for these forums.

Going on 3 days now and just getting worse.

I guess it depends on how much aggravation you are willing to deal with, or you could simply stop browsing the forums while on mobile (which I did for several weeks).

For me, using another browser was the simplest and easiest way to end the aggravation.

So this evening has been pretty much unusable on any subforum or thread I click on. Additional screens shots attached

Well, it looks like the ads (despite ruining the browsing experience of the forums) have improved in quality. Before I switched my browser, I was getting a redirect that said "You won a $25 Walmart gift card", and it would make my phone vibrate non stop. The only way to get out of it was to kill my browser, and even a few times I had to reboot my phone.

I really wish they would get it fixed because this has been going on for way too long, and it is really annoying. Other legit tech sites don't have this issue, and I have to believe someone up top would see this isn't OK, and get it resolved.

Installed Edge. Does the same redacted thing...

Hey! This isn't P&N or OT. Keep the profanity to yourself please.

Any update on fixing an issue that renders this site unusable on mobile chrome? Seems like fixing it would be important

Got this again this morning as the first thing when I opened site on the mobile. Took me several minutes until i could get to the point of being able to get to this thread and post this reply.

WTF is taking so long to correct this.

I use the Samsung browser on my S5 and the forums are just fine. I refuse to use Chrome.

But a full 1/3 of mobile users use Chrome. And this is a tech site which spends a fair bit of time covering mobile devices. Aside from the utter absurdity of a tech site having a long running issue preventing access by 1/3 of mobile device users you'd think the monetary aspect would also motivate a solution

Maybe @jpishgar didn’t receive the bat signal?*

*please note I’m unable to see my reply on mobile and cannot be held responsible for use of any vulgar language as a result of mistyping or auto corrrect.

If the site admins are trying to stick a fork in this place, making it unusable on mobile is a good start. I'm done.
