Ad-aware finds 197 critical objects, but won't remove them

I have run Ad-aware in both Windows and Safe Mode, and both times it has said that it found 197 critical objects, and then gets stuck on a certain file for about 15 minutes. Each time, I have stopped the process to at least get rid of the 197 critical objects, but when I click NEXT to remove them, they are all gone and nothing is listed to remove.

What's the deal?

Download, Install, and Update SuperAntiSpyware and rerun the scan / removal with SuperAntiSpyware.


Adaware is not as good as it once was, the next release remains to be seen.

If you can identify which file it is, upload it to VirusTotal.com and have it analyzed. It would be interesting to hear what it is.

You might try Windows Defender as well. It seems to be better at handling in-use files and other such speed bumps.
