Yea I loved the Legend.

95 Legend Coupe in white = Pure Sex :)

I see one rolling down the street and it'll get looks from me.

The interior was beautiful on that car, had nice pickup and well built overall.

Yes the Legend is still hot, I think this would be a great idea if they make a limited build 2005 Legend
update it 300HP and other updated features dvd Nav etc..
have the style follow the same lines as the older version but with a bit of a modern look.

Sounds Cool to Me

What's wrong wiht marketing it as a sports sedan? What do you define as a sports sedan? It offers 270hp, an optional 6-speed tranmission, 18 inch wheels, etc, etc, etc. What does the TL lack that "real" sports sedans offer?

RWD :)

I second that.

lot of written off models like the Z and the mazda rx series came back, and the supra is on it's way back, i think it's ok for the legend to come back and get rid of the dumb letter combo car scheme. brand recognition is a huge thing, and the legend is still touted as one of the kick ass luxuo coupes, and sedans of the past decade.

as for the acura not having the rwd, i was suprised to read that honda engineers made the handling more neutral, read: more rwd like.
edmunds comparo it tied for second w/ a4 right behind a 330i. it beat out the g35 sedan and cts.. (any suprised on the cts?) caddys love being bottom feeders for luxury comparison tests.. :( while not quite upto par w/ the rear pusher, not too bad for a front puller. i wonder about teh torque steer tho.. that's one issue i have w/ fwds..

THe problem with bringing back the "legend" name is that we already have the legend. The Current RL is the Honda Legend in japan, Acura just changed the name. Now, I can favor bringing back the name, purely out of recognition, for the next generation RL/Legend (should debut in 2004, as a 2005 model)

I agree with you, not calling it a "sport sedan" because it lacks RWD doesn't make sense, especially since most (but not all) of these vehicle's buyers could really give a flying-fvck about RWD or FWD.

Also, Honda has done quite a bit of work in making torque steer impossible to notice (especially with the new Accord platform).

so that prob means the newer one's gotten better if not very similar right? not like you make all the progress to make the fwd feel more like a rwd then scrap it for the next rendition.
at least you didn't go off saying "without the new 04 review, your link is worthless.."

do toyota's and lexus's cars look and feel the same? no

do nissan's and infiniti's cars look and feel the same? no

do honda's and acura's cars look and feel the same? yes

that's my take on it. acura was bound to fail from the beginning by having a cheap japanese image.

What about the Lexus camry clone - the ES. Yes, it is a glorified camry.

What about the Infiniti QX4? It's nothing more than a pathfinder clone, and so is the I35/35 (it's a Maxima clone). What about the new Infiniti QX55 which is nothing more than a spiffed up Pathfinder Armada? Hell, the G35 coupe can be said to be nothing more than a 350z with a back seat and larger trunk.

Compair some Acura vehicles and tell me which ones look and feel the same before making such an empty statement. And what's so negative about the cars "feeling" the same? Honda obviously has an incredibly well tuned Accord platform, and it they can sucessfully apply that platform to different models, what's wrong with it? Hell, almost all of Nissan's and Infiniti's lineup share the same platforms, and perform very similar to each other. Platform sharing is the easiest way for a manufacturer to same money on developement costs - there's nothing negative about it.

You're argument doesn't hold water.

Do you have your Honda written on your forehead?

Most of Acura's cars are glorified Hondas with the exception of the NSX which is damn long in the tooth. Acura HAS lost its direction and that's why their sales are going down. I don't know HOW you can stand up for them:

RL: Same design dating back to 1995. Based on a stretched '94 Accord platform IIRC. Weak-Ass 3.5L engine. FWD...hahaha

RSX: Glorified Civic, albeit a nice one. FWD

MDX: stretched and twisted Honda Oddyssey. $35k - $45k and they STILL give you fake wood

TL: Glorified Accord. FWD

NSX: Been around since 1990.

CL: Killed b/c of slow sales. Looked like an Accord anyway. FWD

TSX: European Accord. Not much different than a regular Accord and more expensive. FWD

Then look at Lexus. The RX330 and ES330 are based on the Camry yet look totally different inside and out. They are WAYYY more luxurious than anything Honda puts out. The GX470 is based on the 4-Runner but you'd never know it from looking at it inside or out. The LX470 DOES however look like a Land Cruiser. Then you have the stand alone models:

IS300: straight-6, manual tranny, RWD
GS300/GS430: 300 HP V8, RWD
LS430: 300 HP V8, RWD
SC430: 300 HP V8, RWD, retractable hardtop

Lexus knows its direction. Acura doesn't. Acura is mediocre these days.

The Toyota V12 has been available in Japan for quite some time, and it will be tweaked version of it.

RS6? hmmm nice car but I wouldn't count on VW/Audi reliability considering it can only be serviced in very few Audi dealers.

The TL looks so much better than the ES330. I think both are great cars with strenghts and weakeness. I never understood all these heated discussion here of cars most people here can't afford anyways.

the car has a great profile, what with the short front and long rear overhang and the way the rear glass slopes
