I set my control panel resolution to 1680x1050 but the actual resolution that comes out of the whole deal is 1600x1200 and it causes my monitor to extend over, and i have to move my mouse back and forth to see the whole screen, if that makes sense. I reformatted and after I got everything going again, this is what I've been dealing with.

Anyone know the cause of this problem?

My monitor is a ViewSonic VX2235wm-3 with 1.5.0.0 as the driver version and my graphics card is a nVidia GeForce 6800u with 6.14.11.6218 as the driver version.

Any help would be great, thanks.

hmmm ... there's a thread right next to yours, where someone suffers the same problem with a 19" widescreen and a recent NVidia driver. Maybe that's a driver fvckvp.

Are you connected with VGA or with DVI? If you are using VGA, this is likely the source of your problem. I will give more info if you tell me you are using VGA.
