Finally, a look at what Madden 06 will be on the Xbox360 here.
(and yes, I know, I know, it's fileshack...but it's the only place I've seen it)

As for how it looks....uh...I guess it looks pretty good. But not nearly good enough to make me pickup an Xbob360 on launch.

What do you expect? It's a port of a PS2/Xbox game to the Xbox360. It's not even going to come close to looking like it could. You won't see a true next-gen version of Madden till next year.

Agreed. This footage didn't look spectacular at all, but given a couple of years, you'll hopefully see a ton of animations exclusive to each position, fingers that don't stick straight out at all times, better collision detection, and better animation transitions. This is what I'm looking forward to on the next-gen consoles.

Well, there's finally some new footage available. Unfortunately, in a turn of events that might hypothetically in the future be referred to as "pulling a Killzone", the new footage is somewhat underwhelming compared to what we were shown before--and EA even claimed it would get better than what they had on display.

The new video certainly looks quite nice, and it continues to improve graphically on what has been done in the series, but it's something of a letdown after the earlier promises. For those in doubt, 1UP has confirmed with EA that the video released today is in fact new. While 1UP speculates that the animation could be "placeholder", that seems a bit unlikely. Especially in a game focusing this heavily on individual character models, it seems a bit late in the game to be publically releasing placeholder animation as trailer material.

You'll only see those things if EA gives up its exclusive license to the NFL.

I love how this footage is so drastically different from the "artists' depictions" from EA about a year ago showing what the next gen of Madden would look like.

Screw Madden for that exact reason. No NFL2k6, no football for me this season. :(

Agreed... I'm still happily playing my copy of 2k5 ;) . My favorite console game, actually.

THAT'S how you do football!
