Let me see...hmmm....getting a bagful of hate mail is to be compared to McCarthyism? Poor, poor celebs. Here's a suggestion: If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen and STFU.

They all pursue public recognition like there's no tomorrow, and now that they have it, they're whining that the recognition they're getting is not the right kind?

And SAG, in defending its actor's rights to expression, dissaproves of some of the public's means of expression? Give me a break. They should all pull their collective heads out of their collective asses and stick to making movies if they're so worried about public opinion.
You'd think they would have realized by now that they make great targets for the Right Wing Talk Show Hosts to manipulate their audiences to hate.

Heh, their fears of a return of McCarthyism are unfounded. The government won't blacklist anyone. The public, by not spending their dollars on movies with actors they don't care for, is another matter.
That's funny. Hollywood will still make their crappy films.

I think Martin Sheen is actually beginning to believe he is the President.
These people don't seem to realize that 10-15 million people watch their shows every week. In this country that means there's another 275M who aren't.
Why are these dolts opinions being taken as gospel?
99% of them don't have a damn clue what the hell their talking about and I'm convinced use it as a publicity ploy.

Don't stop watching their programs. Stop buying the products advertised on their programs. They get paid with advertising dollars. No advertisers, No paycheck. Cha-Ching!

C-grade celebrity hopes peace rally will re-invigorate career 😀

Well said!

HAHAHAHA, I read the title and thought it said "Actors fear backslash" and for a moment, I honestly was thinking "They should, it'll completely negate the special meaning of the next character!!"

Because, professor, there's a difference between a boycott(fine but pointless) and simply demanding that someone lose their job over political views.

No there isn't. Both are free speech issues.

I never said they couldn't say these things, I'm just saying that doing so qualifies you for a lifetime pass on the short bus. It's insane that these letter writers don't understand the blatant hypocrisy of their actions, and it's even more insane that anyone gives a crap about what Martin Sheen says about anything. The problem, if any, will come when people begin losing their jobs as a direct result of their political views.
