Isn't this the Baldwin that found Jesus and is now a "Christian" spokesman?

You really want to associate tax cheats with their respective parties?

I don't really care. I'm a registered Independent. I'm just associating the tax cheat with wanting to keep a harmless plant illegal so we can continue to add to the over 20 MILLION arrests made since 1965 for marijuana. Think about how much money that costs all of us in tax revenue, to arrest and prosecute people for a plant that is less dangerous than alcohol or tobacco. Does that really make any kind of sense to you?

Is that why marijuana prosecutions are up under Obama? Because Republicans?

I don't see the big deal. Just another person with financial problems:

A bankruptcy filing in 2009 said Stephen Baldwin owed $1.2 million on two mortgages, $1 million in taxes and $70,000 on credit cards.

It doesn't look like he tried to evade taxes or failed to file returns. Just that he hasn't paid. I rather suspect that he can't pay.

Most probably don't know this, but if you owe the IRS tax money they don't give a sh1t about state taxes. The IRS has a lot more collection power than states. I.e., it's entirely possibly he can't pay NY because the IRS is grabbing all his funds to pay the federal tax debt.

NY similarly doesn't give a crap about his IRS debt, they want their money and their attitude will be whatever money he has belongs to NV and fvck the IRS. Looks to me like he's stuck in between the two taxing authorities and getting hammered. I've seen this happen with some clients. IMO, it's a totally unreasonable attitude for two govt agencies to take, but they do.

Why the hell do people like him live in NY? A lot of us can't afford to move from this blood sucking leech of a state but he has the option to be anywhere else. Egads.

the irony..

NY and California are a couple of the most significant human societies in history, in part becasue they aren't afraid to tax and spend to create enormously advanced cultures.

Its crazy to say you can't afford to move out of NY, there's lots of cheaper places to live. middle Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, etc, etc, etc.

The reality is you and Steven Balwin probably want to be there because of the advanced society, but don't want to pay your share..

Oh yeah. People paying a thousand a month in taxes on a 180k home. Those ungrateful people with marginal income or tied to a job they can't afford to lose. Those wealthy 40k families that could lose their homes if they miss a couple paychecks. Steve Baldwins all

He must belong to one of those right-wing Christians, who believe that wealth is a sign of God's love for you, and that you have to pay your tithe to the church, even if that means not paying your taxes. If you don't get caught, that's another sign God loves you.
