Hopefully they can make the campaign more enjoyable by eliminating the infinite respawning enemies nonsense.

There are no infinite respawns. There's respawns, and theyll keep pouring out for a while, but keep killing them and theyll stop coming.

They keep respawning until you progress, so effectively they're infinite respawns. Some people like to go balls out through a game, some people like to go through methodically. CoD's infinite respawns are annoying for the latter.

Development costs for this generation's games are several times higher than last generation's games, but the price of games has gone up 20%. Ads and DLC are two ways for companies to increase revenues to make up the difference.

Bullshit?

Not all games have to be backed by hundreds of mllions of dollars, and even those that are currently don't have ads.

This, along with DLC, is just another push for more money that companies are hoping with sound justifiable.

Ya, I usually like to hang back in shooters and kill the guys from as long range as possible. You can't do that in CoD4.

I'm sorry, could you point out what I said that was inaccurate?

I can live with some in-game advertising. Billboards are fine as long as they make sense with the surrounding scenery; side of the road, on a building. If it distracts from the game or doesn't make sense, then it should be added to the game. Example of poor in-game advertising is with Far Cry 2. You play a character that's in the middle of a civil war in Africa and run across a billboard in the desert selling the new Punisher movie. WTF?

This pretty much sums up my opinion as well. Previous versions of Guitar Hero had advertising in them... and that was perfectly fine. It wasn't intrusive, it didn't affect my enjoyment of the game at all, and it fit in to the scenes... so I had no issue with that. If they start having cocacola adds scrolling down my fretboard or having ridiculous adds that don't fit and shove them in my face, then I will have much more of an issue with it.

Wrongo. I once sat sniping a doorway for 20 minutes and killed over 100 guys that respawned at the same spot.

BTW this thread has given me a headache with all the talk about what is titled what.

It can take upwards of 100 kills, but I've yet to progress to a point in the game where they wont eventually stop coming.

Even that TV station - I've hung back and killed many, many soldiers. They do stop coming. It took a few minutes, but they stopped, and I didnt progress past that invisible point (I hung back the entire time)

It can take so long at times that perhaps its a moot point, and theyre certainly excessive respawns by any measure, but I'm telling you guys - they stop eventually if you've got patience. :p
