Unfortunately MoH was really just BFBC 2.5. Its still Dice, and MoH was the foundation for the Vietnam expansion and a lot of it is in BF3. I guess Homefront had their 15 min. But how hard can it be to make a game that strips the annoying aspects out of COD and BF!

I'd love for a self-centered dev to hand gamers back their balls; this whole Fisher-Price self-gratitude 'awarding' needs to go.

To play better in a game as a result of better gear, and not necessarily because you are more-skilled? Rubbish.

This generation would not have lasted more than a week playing Quake/ UT.

My 10 year old nephew loves CoD. When I saw him over thanksgiving CoD was all he could talk about. All of his friends play it as well. Isn't the game rated teen or something?

Hook the kids and the $ will role in, I guess.

if you took the annoying aspects out of BF3, you would have CoD.

Ergo you're ~10 years old.

Yeah, it seems like shooters these days are geared toward people who cant play, and need every cheap thing possible to get a kill. I understand its what makes COD successful, and BF3 tried to do it as well this time around. But there should be a enough of the old school players around to make it a worth while effort. And people who are really good at COD and BF3 might want to graduate to something better.

The really sad thing is BF3 still has a single player campaign that everyone calls lack luster. A lot of gamers don't want Hollywood moving into the industry, but at this point they're the only ones who might be able to show these companies how to spend tens of millions dollars and actually provide the entertainment people want. If the developers have to aim for the lowest common denominator the least they can do is hit the mark and, then, hopefully move on to bigger and better things.

Just wondering when they'll say "We could've made 2 billion if it weren't for piracy".

I am not a COD hater, for the most part I generally like all the COD games and just love Black Ops, but MW3 is craptastic. It's a horrible, horrible excuse for a game. Someone else hit the nail on the head, it's nothing but a $60 map pack for MW2 (previously my least favorite COD) and manages to actually play a bit worse even still. Yet, it still sold in droves. I just can't wait for Black Ops 2 to come out so they can bury this POS.

First person shooters are slowly dying.

Sure we get some new engines and stuff but its all the same...mindless shooting ranking up earning points unlocks and finding out how many douchebags can fit into one server and cause all kinds of hell.

Personally i wish BF3 had what BF2 had,a offline mode with bots so i avoid the idiots in these games.

Me i am looking for the next best thing technically i hate stupid people and fps games have more then i can handle:eek:

The thing is this...

Every year their are new kids to play the new games. So they can make the same old thing and sell it to new people. Much easier to do this then to try and make something new to sell to the veteran vg players.

Cod is the what the madden franchise is to sports games. It has the brand recognition to put out a similar product year after year with minor tweaks and rake in the dough. You could understand with Madden since they have the NFL license on lock from other companies and theres no competitors to choose from but the fact that this rehashed shooter does so well with no one being able to make a decent game to compete is puzzling. Until a good competitive FPS comes out I'll continue to play these map packs for now. Man I miss the good ole days of quake....

Considering movie tickets are a hell of a lot cheaper than video games, I'm actually somewhat surprised it took this long.

what are you talking about? everyone steals their games and so no one ever pays for them.

just a testament to the fact that people are stupid sheep and you can feed them the same shit over and over again and they will still buy it as it was brand new..

I weep for humanity. I mean Sheepmanity

I concur

We would all do the same thing if we were owners of Activision/Blizzard or own the COD franchise... milk the Cash Cow for all its worth... the only time change will be necessary is if the franchise no longer turns a profit...o_O

now that I think about it, it would be called Medal of Honor. That game was 10x worse than CoD will ever be.

lol You sir, dont know what the hell you're talking about! I refuse to engage you further. Good day!

I said Good Day sir!

No surprise here, there is no shortage of the shortbus demographic. These are the same people tuning in to keeping up with the kardashians and jersey shore every week. :D

I mean the latest iteration of it, not the earlier versions. Have you played it? It was horrible.

I havent liked gritty war shooters since Call of Duty. Some of us predicted the industry would eventually get tired of milking the WWII cow just like they got tired of the sci-fi shooter. We were right.
I wonder how long the not-to-distant-future/kill-all-brown-people genre has left in it.

Are you saying that you have some clairvoyant powers to detect what everyone else knew was obvious. trends change, don't need Nostradamus for that.

Yes, I put in over 100 hours, at least. Not the greatest game, but not that bad. Its like infantry only Battlefield. I did not play singleplayer, but there was nothing all that egregious with the multiplayer. Now, good day sir!

Are you implying that the recent MoH was more than a pile of shit?

Not only implying it, but out right stating it! Only real complaint was the stacking point streak system. One person could dominate the game once he/she got their chain going. But thats no different than COD or getting a OP vehicle in Battlefield. And I liked that people died when you shot them. I could get 4 head shots with the M4 going full auto on 1 clip at range. If you could aim, you could do it.

And good day to you as well sir!

Eh, Call of Duty is just mass-market cheese, a la Justin Bieber or the Twilight Series. I *very* seldom see someone who actually likes it that has played any previous games of note. Quake 1 did the whole spaz deathmatch thing much better about 15 years ago.

I rented it on Xbox 360 this weekend. It got old pretty damn quick. There isn't much strategy behind the game, it's just a mindless "Run & Gun" game like the previous 3 or 4.

Yeah, this is why I don't want to play it ... it fits into a genre though.

More money fed into PC gaming the better though :D
