From what I’ve seen the rate of gun violence correlates to the strictness of gun laws in the state. I’m curious which state you are using as your measure. I’d like to see how it corresponds by looking at the data.

Vermont has a rate per capita of just under 11 deaths per 100,000. It’s barely in the lowest 20.

The states with the strictest controls fill pretty much every position below them. And I’m not saying controls are THE reason. Wealth etc... play a huge part as well. But it correlates.

Sure confiscate all guns or accept that alot of these gun laws are not going to stop this in a 'free' country. There is a certain amount of risk living free. Institute universal background checks (and keep the database up to date), make them free to private citizens and have more mental health services and call it good. That's about all you can do that's constitutional.

America breeds idiocy so complete that there is no chance that the success other countries have had is possible in a "free" to be as stupid, insane and violent as ya wanna be country like America. Because that IS what gun nutters are talking about when they're talking about America's freedoms. Free to be shit. Can you not possibly entertain the idea that there are people that have strong convictions about the 2A that are not dumb or purely gun nuts? Even if you don't agree, there are people that really believe they themselves should be responsible for their defense. Some believe that having the 2A is important to keeping America free. Not everybody is simply about having more "toys".

Not true. Something can be done but just not as much as the anti 2A's want and what can be done is not going to eliminate this.
