Hi guys,

My colleague and I had a discussion on implementing a rolling message on screen (not screen saver mode on a PC based system.)

This is actually linked to a large 40 Inch LCD TV in the call center.

Do I need some sort of software to get this feature?
any inputs will be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

or ESPN for that matter when they want to announce results.. important news..
stuff like that.

Ummmm, write a program to do it? Or maybe find ticker software that can read an RSS feed and then set up your own feed?

Ahh found one version but its not a shareware to try.. hmm

Ticker Software

But basically this is what I need but I wonder if it would have the function "always on top" running regardless of what application is running at the background.
Any other sharewares that I could at least give it a try before considering to purchase it?

ok, this has been leading me on another wild idea. i found some software that is sort of what you are talking about- http://www.freedownloadmanager.../marquee_display_info/

its pretty cool because you can set it up to show various websites and pictures in order, effectively having an up-to-date screen all the time.

i thought it would be good software for my picture frame project, but now im thinking bigger.

what about software that could display random pictures, then at set intervals it would display say 'weather.com' for updated weather, then say every hour it would change the screen out to a clock, make a birdy noise then go back to showing pictures again. that would be the perfect way to use a picture frame, i wonder if there is software that could do that... no doubt someday soon there will be. digital picture frames are going to be hugely popular once they can do more.

Hmm, okay this one is really cool,
though I am still trying to see if it can work on active desktop rather then a screen saver.
As I need to run it concurrent with an in house application.

yeah i know what you mean. hard to believe this is so hard to find. what about a program that can pop up instant messages on network pc's? there must be some type of program that does that. heh, what about a virus with the poison taken out? :D

hmm, never thought of that yet
but I asked a friend.. and he said using widgets.. or windows gadgets may do the trick.
but I need some help how to create one as I have no clue whatsoever..

I just need a simple moving marquee that is always on top, but.. oh well.. can't believe its so hard to find like u said.

man i know there are transparent screensavers out there. what you need is one that could display websites and pictures in a scrolling manner, that would cover your needs one way or another. must.... find.... must... find.....

Heard of the program Swish?
You think that would be easier to use?

I was hoping that it could move like a windows widget so that it will not behave like a screen saver and deactivate itself when the user needs to use the PC.
