Active Desktop Errors!!!

I have a pIII 750@ 950Mhz, GeForce 2 32MB GTS, 256MB ram and win me. if i apply a background i always get an active desktop error. I have the newest updates and drivers, still no luck. any suggestions?

Could you be more specific as to what the error message says?

I've seen this before. Check the knowledgebase at microsoft. In the mean time, disable active desktop. Let us know what you find!

The error says windows had a problem displaying the background. disable active desktop.

I will check deeper in microsofts database. I have had it disabled for quite sometime. I keep ya posted!

Just out of curiosity, what format is the background image (.bmp, .gif, etc.)? Windows only supports .bmp files without active desktop enabled.

Most are JPG's but some are the backgrounds that come with win me. I saved the JPG as a BMP and that seems to work for now. But we will see! Thanks for the help!:|

That was your problem (hopefully). Only .bmp's work without active desktop being enabled. To use .jpg's (or .gif's), you must first convert them to the .bmp format.
