would i notice any improvements on FSB o/c if i were to put a fan on the NB? if so, what fan do you guys reccommend from new egg, thanks

Hello. I don't have your mobo; I have an Epox 8RDA+. I removed the HS on the NB and found a dime-sized piece of TIM. As you know, the NF2 NB is about the size of a half-dollar or so. :disgust:

I cleaned off all the pink goo on both surfaces and slathered some AS3 on there. (this was about 9 months ago)

The NB used to get warm. Now it gets HOT. What's that tell you? 😉 I have Rev 1.0 of my board, which isn't supposed to do 200MHz FSB very well. I've been sitting at it since I got the board.

Before going active and adding yet another fan, I'd try the AS route. Just a suggestion. 🙂

Bumping up the chipset voltage in the Uber bios does nothing so that won't help its a useless option that Demoulous enabled just for the fun of it. Asus was going to make it adjustabe but decided to use a different chip that doesn't allow you to configure the voltage to save costs. I have active cooling on my Rev 2.0 but it hit 200FSB before anyways. I would try putting AS on there and see if it helps, I bet it will. If not can't hurt spending another 10 bucks for active cooling.

The NB HS is actually pretty decent. Put some Arctic Silver on there and it works quite well. It'll help you out if you don't want to spend the money on another HS. I got up to 205MHz on my 1.04 A7N8X and stopped there. If you can't get that high, your proc might also be holding you back.
