Activating Windows XP on two computers?

I have a second computer that crashed and I had to do a clean install but I lost the cd key for it. I have a copy of XP Pro before SP1 that's on my main system. Can I put that on 2 different computers?

Also, I got my license through a school program and I'm not sure how many activations it is good for is there a way to find that out?

Start > Run > winver and click OK. Click the license agreement link on the panel that comes up, and read your EULA and see how many systems the license can (legally) be used on at once. Normally it's one.

If the license is OEM, it's not intended to be transferred from its original system to a new one, either (with Retail licenses, this is OK, however).
