Activating Office 2003

I had Office 2003 on another computer, but it went down and I had urgent work to do, so I called to activate it on my new computer.

When my first machine is back up, will Office no longer work with the old machine?

It may complain that you need to acitvate again. If it doesn't activate automatically just call up and explain what you did. I doubt you will have a problem.

It depends on your definition of back up for the old machine. If this requires reinstallation of Windows and/or Office then yes you will need to reactivate it on your hold machine as Markbnj said. If you however mean just replacing a hardware or software fault to get your old pc working again without reinstall then it'll still be activated, however you should not continue to use office on both pc's are you would be in violation of the license agreement so one of the copies has to go. 🙂

If you are only on 2 computers, you are fine ... see link: http://www.microsoft.com/uk/of...ons/prodinfo/faqs.mspx

Q. How many times can I install Office 2003 Editions?
A.

You can install one copy of Office Professional Edition 2003, Office Small Business Edition 2003 and Office Standard Edition 2003 on your main computer and another on your laptop computer for your exclusive, but non-concurrent use. To install a version of these Office 2003 Editions on more than these two computers, you must obtain another licence for the program. You can install Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003 on up to three computers in your household if a household member is qualified. You can work with Office 2003 Editions at your desk and when mobile. Note Licences for the 2003 release of Office acquired pre-installed on new computers are single-computer licences that cannot be transferred or installed on another computer.
