Yeah thats what my sisters thought. But then again they are the type that will graduate with a 4.0 gpa but can't put together a 4 peace shelf...o yeah they both got 19. I plan on graduating with about a 3.5. I'm much lazier than them but I beleive if I work as hard as them I can score higher. Hopefully I can get atleast a 27 so I can get scholarship and some book money. Please if you have any info. please post!

For a first time taker, I would definatly get a book w/ CD rom. they have a diagnositc test, and then, after you run through the book, most likely, your score should improve. It's good practice, and can motivate you to practice taking the exams, in an exam situation. pencil and paper never motiviated me that much.

I mean, for some people that say it didn't help. I mean, If you had a 33 on the ACT, and you brought the book hoping it will improve your score to a 35, I highly doubt it'll help.

anyways, buy a book w/ Cd rom

I just got done taking the ACT for the 2nd time, and I ended up getting a 26. The first time I took it (got a 21), I did not prepare or do anything, and I went through the test reading all of the directions, and reading each question carefully and going over every answer. This did not work because I ran out of time on every section, and just marked in answers to get them done. The second time, I didn't even know about the test because I wasn't gonna take it till a couple months later (because I missed the deadline to sign up), but then the night before, my friend said that they are accepting walk-ins (pay more to test that same day). So he gave me his little cd rom thing (he got like a 32 or 33 using it, hes pretty smart), but this was at like 2-3 in the morning, and I installed it, but I was too tired/it looked stupid, to go through it. I ended up going, tired, and didn't read the directions, and did not review my answers(wrote down first logical answer that came to mind), and I finished every section with out having to fill in ones that I didn't have time for. I ended up getting a 26(lowest was like reading with 23, and math was highest with 30)
Good luck with yours!

Get plenty of sleep. Try to determine what went wrong on your last test, what areas you didn't do well in, etc. and correct them. If you missed a lot of the Geometry problems you obviously need to review your geometry, and so on.

Get Kaplan's ACT prep kit. It lets you take the test and helps you identify your weakpoints. Then it drills the $h1t out of you until you improve.. Definitly worth the $50. A good score will help you get good scholarships unless your a average white boy like me :)
