ACS5 Application?

I?m going to have to reseat my stock heat sink and clean/ reapply ACS5. I have the Isopropyl alcohol and swabs for the job. I will order new ACS5 compound with my new mb and video card pci-e.

How much ACS5 will I need? Like a rice drop then just press and lock into place. Are there directions on the bottle? Do I have to press then re-look at it to make sure or is a rice size piece good enough?

for amd64's its about a grain of rice, or about 3/4th the size of a BB pellet i think....

hell, i just put it on and spread it out a bit with a sharp piece of plastic. Make it really thin and stick the HSF on. Its always worked for me and ive seen better temps with that because as long as you dont put on too much, it fills everything and temps stay better.

Grain of rice. Use a business card to smooth it out.

Grain of rice size on the CPU, attach the HS and let it spread itself.

No need to put on a light coat on the heatsink first? Just 1 drop on the cpu and press, sounds easy.
