How do I get an image file backed up onto a DVD? I thought there was an option to do so right in the program but I didn't see it. Now the backup file is taking up gigs of HDD space. Thanks.

It's just a file, so if it's under 4 GB you can just burn it as a data disc with nero / roxio. Maybe even if it's over 4 GB ("disc spanning") though I've never tried that.

I thought Acronis supported imaging to removable media too, though I haven't gotten around to trying that either. Are you running from the bootable CD or from the Windows install?

True Image is a great program but it is much faster and error free to save first to HD, and then burn, and delete from the HD.

When you go through the create image wizard it lets you choose the size of a single file.

Choose 650MB if you want to use CD-ROM, and 2G if you would like to use DVD,

Burner program can not burn one file that is above 2G (it is an ISO thing).

True Image will span and number the backup file accurately.
