Ok so I took my PC and made an image using acronis true image. Then I made a boot CD and booted my laptop with it. I then restored the image I had made on my PC. However, now when I go to load windows it instantly crashes to a blue screen and reboots before I can read it. How can I get windows to read its new hardware configurations on my laptop so it will boot successfully?

Thanks

I just reread what your are trying to do and I believe it's not worth the trouble since your desktop pc is so different than your notebook hardware.
I would just do a fresh install on your notebook and when your have loaded all the stuff on it and works just the way you like it, make a image and save it.

Same. I prefer to install a clean Windows and drivers then image that, not restore one littered with drivers and registry settings from a completely different motherboard, video card, sound chip, etc.
