Hi,
I just installed an AMD64 machine. These are the specs:
Gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra-939 Motherboard
Athlon64 3000+
512MB Corsair Value Select DDR400
<other stuff>
I just installed Windows XP, and everything went fine. However, when I go to shut down my computer, It says "Windows is shutting down", then I get a screen that says: "It is now safe to turn off your computer".
I've seen this before, but it was because ACPI wasn't turned on. When I go to the 'Device Manager', and expand the "Computer" field, I get "Standard PC" instead of "ACPI Uniprocessor..."
I checked in my BIOS, but and it looks like everything is turned on.
SiSoft says this:
ACPI BIOS
Version : 1.00
Manufacturer : Nvidia
Revision : 2E.31
MP APIC : Yes
SCI ACPI IRQ : 9
Advanced Power Management Information
Supported S(leep) States : S4
UPS : No
Thermal Zones : No
Power Button : No
Sleep Button : No
Lid Button : No
Display Dimming Supported : No
Hibernate Supported : Yes
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
MrSuperstar
